This beautiful Mediterranean style home is the collaborative result of many participants, starting with a Client who had a clear vision and was able to communicate it precisely.
Pasco Design became involved early in the process, providing concept design drawings for the Building Design component. The concept was developed further over time, with additional input from the Client, CAD documentors, the Builder and the Landscape Designer.
Pasco Design was involved in the process closely from beginning to end, including the design and documentation all elements of the Interior Design and furniture, lighting and finishes selections.
Solar design was very important to the Client - all aspects of the day were considered. The path of the sun was studied and the house positioned so that they could enjoy cooling shadowed light in summer or deep penetrating sun in the winter, warming the travertine slab floor.
Each interior space was detailed individually. The kitchen joinery was hand painted on site in a Mediterranean style wash/paint, and the recessed shelving units were custom made from recycled timbers. Antique furniture was repurposed and became bathroom vanities which were paired with rubbed brass tapware and travertine basins, creating bespoke spaces to be enjoyed.
The end result is a warm, welcoming family home that interacts perfectly with the north facing garden. The interior spaces benefit from high ceilings and are either light filled, or dappled with shadows, depending on the time of day.
