Pasco Design delivered a contemporary extension to this sizable Edwardian home. Though the footprint of the extension is modest, the resulting design has created generous light-fllled spaces that allow the homeowners to live the indoor-outdoor entertaining life they envisioned.
This impressive extension required clever planning to reconfigure the home without taking up any extra backyard space. The kitchen was moved to the back of the house, where bifold glass doors create visual and physical access to the alfresco and pool area.
Here the homeowners can enjoy the ultimate open-plan living experience with a kitchen boasting integrated fridges and a walk-in pantry, a relaxed family dining area at the island bench, a living room and the adjoining alfresco.
The alfresco area is 'sunken' into the garden, surrounded by raised planters, built-in seating and a barbecue, creating the appearance of a boundary without detracting from the open flow of the home.
High raked ceilings, a functional clutter-free layout, and warm timber floorboards make the living area feel open and bright. Pasco Design incorporated a classic monochromatic colour scheme, which continues into the large bathroom and laundry, accompanied by geometric tiling that draws the eye.
